Coat of Hopes

The Coat of Hopes is a piece of performance craft and multi-faith environmental activism occurring in the lead up to COP26 Climate Talks in Glasgow 2021.

The Coat is a patchwork garment made of embroidered pieces of blanket, created by a diverse range of people along a 500 mile walk across the UK.

The Coat carries stitched griefs, remembrances, prayers and hopes connected to their local landscapes and stories of migration, to the gathering of world decision makers as they meet to discuss global action on Climate Change.

Inspired by the urgency of the issue and the collective spirit of the community action, we worked creatively with the team, creating an identity and online space for the visual documentation of the project.

The project captures stories of the people and places that become involved with the patch making and the wearing of the Coat of Hopes along on its journey.
